The serene atmosphere created by the eye-catching Kalwall ® translucent sandwich panels is a perfect fit for the main training hall inside the newly-renovated British National Taekwondo Centre in Manchester, England.

As Britain’s elite taekwondo players work out, the facade of Kalwall® panels creates a glare-free and private atmosphere ideal for training.

This state of the art facility was designed by AEW Architects, while London-based Balfour Beatty was the main contractor. Structura UK Ltd. is the Kalwall® distributor in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Dr. Chungwon Choue, president of the World Taekwondo Federation, was on hand for the official ribbon cutting ceremony when the facility opened in March.

The facility was built in time to suit the needs of British athletes training for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio. The entire national taekwondo program, including 130 athletes, coaches and administrators, can now work under the same roof for the first time.

Kalwall® panels are a popular choice for athletic facilities, from football training sites to natatoriums, because of their ability to provide natural diffuse daylight that does not create a glare on the playing surfaces.
