KALWALL WALL SYSTEMS APPROVED TO LATEST FM APPROVAL STANDARD 4881

Kalwall Translucent Wall, Roof and Window Systems have long been at the forefront of national building code compliance. Kalwall Corporation is now among the first manufacturers to gain approval to the latest Approval Standard 4881, Class 1 Exterior Walls Systems.

FM Approvals, a nationally recognized testing and certification arm of FM Global Group, spent two years developing the new standard to address the natural hazards to which exterior walls are commonly exposed, including high-wind events. In order to maintain FM standard approval, Kalwall's Wall assemblies first had to met the requirements for Class 1 Fire Rating as called for in Approval Standard 4880. Additional requirements of the new Approval Standard 4881 are Wind-Load Rating, Windborne-Debris Resistance and Hail-Resistance Ratings.
